As the sun fills the blue sky
There is danger on the horizon
There's no such thing as goodbye when it comes to Michelle. There probably never will be. Tom has loved other women before; and, to give credit to the strength of the human heart, he knows he'll probably love other women again.
But he'll never find another woman who makes him feel quite the same level, the same intensity, of love that Michelle inspired in him from the very beginning. No one else can ever be the true love of his life.
No matter what the future holds, he knows that she's the one. But their lives have never made their love a simple matter of I-love-you-you-love-me-happily-ever-after. The universe seems determined to keep that from ever being a reality.
I keep dreaming of the past
But it just never lasts
How I wish time could go back
Though alive, she's so far away. Her scent, her voice, her touch, are ghosts that haunt Tom every day. The hope that maybe he'll see her again, under less cruel circumstances, keeps him going.
If they can't be together, if the dangers in their lives are hell-bent on keeping them apart for the rest of those lives, then the least that Tom can do is try to be the kind of man who deserves to love a woman like Michelle. He hopes he's succeeding.
