“Where’s Lucas?” Harry asked.  “I was expecting him back by now.”

“He texted to say he’s still on the trail, but the mark seems to be extremely cautious,” Ros replied.

“Has he been spotted then?”

“I don’t think so.”

“Well, let me know as soon as you hear anything from him.”

“Will do!”

It was over an hour later that Lucas finally arrived.

Harry came out of his office to meet him.  “Where you successful?” he demanded.

“I was,” Lucas grinned.  He handed over a rather damp large envelope.  “Sorry about that.  It started to rain just as our mark finally dropped off this envelope in his dead letter box and I had to wait until he was well out of sight before I could retrieve it.”

“What took so long?  You’ve been out almost half a day.”

“I’m not entirely sure.  He stopped a few of times at what looked like plausible locations, but then moved on again.  The first time I thought he must have noticed me, but that didn’t seem to be the case.  And fortunately, whenever he stopped there was a Greggs, or similar, close by, so I could nip inside to watch him.”

“I can’t think of a more suitable place for you to hide,” Harry said drily.

“I agree,” Lucas nodded.  “In fact, in the end it was really a piece of cake.”  He removed a paper bag from his backpack and smirked.

Harry rolled his eyes, and carried the envelope back to his office.  “Of course it was,” he said over his shoulder.
